Moss Curled Parsley (Petroselinum crispum ‘Moss Curled’) is a classic, tightly ruffled, dark-green variety with finely curled leaves that form dense, compact mounds 10–12 inches tall. Originating in the Mediterranean, parsley was first used medicinally before becoming the world’s most popular herb—a true triple-threat used as fresh herb, dried spice, and leafy vegetable.
Its bright, mildly grassy flavor is gentler than flat-leaf types, making it the traditional garnish for deviled eggs, potato salad, and fish dishes, and a key ingredient in tabbouleh. Packed with vitamins A, C, K, and iron, it’s as nutritious as it is versatile.
Easy to grow and biennial (often grown as an annual), moss curled parsley thrives in rich, moist soil and part sun to light shade. It’s an excellent companion plant, luring hoverflies and predatory wasps while drawing tomato hornworms away from crops—plant it near tomatoes, roses, or asparagus for natural pest control.
